### October 8, 1973 - August 24, 2026

Bradley Joseph Peden died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 24, 2026 in his 53rd year after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Brad was born in Fergus, Ontario, raised there and in London, Ontario. He lived most of his adult life in St. Thomas, Ontario. Brad was loved and is survived by his father Dan (Kathy, his second mom) and his brother Brian. He was predeceased by his mother Beverly. For more than 25 years, Brad was a valued part of the Beamish Landscaping family, where he was much more than an employee—he truly became family. Brad found joy in the simple, everyday moments of life and had a special love for a good bargain and a trip to GW and Value Village, never wanting to walk past without stopping in to see what treasures he might find. Many in St. Thomas will remember him from his days as proprietor of Brad’s Esso gas station on Talbot Street. Brad loved fishing with his good buddy Phil, and together they created many wonderful memories, especially around the campfire in Phil and Lynn’s backyard. These simple moments, filled with friendship, laughter and good company, were a reflection of the warmth and joy Brad brought to the lives of those around him. Brad will be greatly missed by his friends who became his St. Thomas family. In the words of a friend “Brad showed up for people no matter who you were or how you knew him, if you needed him, he was there, through good and bad times. His actions taught others that showing up was the most important thing.” When Brad found out about his illness, his biggest concern was not wanting to make people sad. So please honour that wish and cherish your memories of Brad. Go out thrifting and find a bargain, enjoy life’s simple pleasures and show up every day. “Bark at you later. Yeah Buddy!” The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre and St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital for their exceptional care of Brad in his final weeks. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Brad’s Life will be held on a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street.
