Wife of Mike (predeceased). Mother of Kurt (Sherry), Ben (Crystal) and Luke (Trishia). Nana to Karlee, Katelyn, George, Kasch, Alston, Peggy, Debbie, Buddy and Shea. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was born December 28, 1946 in South Baymouth during a snow storm to Captain John Greenway Sr. and Lillian (Gelston). Loving sister to Loretta (Greenway) Mucha and Captain John Greenway Jr. (Anita). Eleanor wore many hats, executive secretary at CKLW radar station Windsor; bookkeeper at a provincial park; secretary at McDermid’s Home Hardware, Providence Bay; Post Mistress for Canada Post, all while working at the family lumber mill. However, her most important position was wife, mother, nan, and sister. She cherished her family above all. As a community member she worked tirelessly for Michael’s Bay Historical Society, Little Schoolhouse Museum, South Bay Community Association, and if there was a dinner needed anywhere, she was there. She touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to Michael’s Bay Historical Society, South Baymouth Community Association, Little Schoolhouse Museum or a charity of your choice.
