Fabien Gilbert Blais, a resident of Birch Island, died peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the age of 81\. Born to Rhea (nee Doe) and Wilfrid Blais (both predeceased) at Chelmsford on May 7, 1934\. Beloved husband of Doris (nee Shawanda). Loved father of Willie, Floyd, Sally, Timothy, Wilfred, Grace and Hilda. Predeceased by children Clarence, Mary Ann, Arthur and Gilbert Jr. Special Papa to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Cleo (Jaqueline) and Raymond (Nicole). Predeceased by siblings Etienne, Cerile, Fabriola and Mary Anne. Will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. He loved to build and create anything with his hands. He loved the outdoors especially fishing with family and friends. Family and friends gathered at Birch Island Community Centre on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 3 pm. Funeral Mass was at 11 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. Gabriel Lalemant Church, Birch Island. Burial at Whitefish River 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Cemetery.
