Along with the always popular [Fair Ambassador competition](/meet-the-2026-providence-bay-fair-ambassadors/) being held [this evening](https://calendar.app.google/Ng7oY5RePv7WQWqm9?ref=manitoulin.com), Friday, classic rock royalty Kim Mitchell hits the stage as headliner for the fair’s music festival this evening, with The Road Hammers delivering high-octane country rock on Saturday evening. Beyond the headline musical acts, the fair proves to be a true country fair. Visitors can expect the classic sights that have defined the event since its founding, with livestock shows, home baking, craft competitions, family-friendly midway attractions, the parade, and much more, rain or shine. Horse enthusiasts can look forward to clinics and demonstration shows on the fairgrounds, and food lovers will have plenty of options to choose from. The celebration begins this evening with a community welcome fish fry, followed by a local singer-songwriter Cole Hughson performing from 6pm to 8 pm at the powwow grounds. Powwow grand entry will take place Saturday at 1 pm and on Sunday at 12 pm noon. Host drum is Chippewa Travellers, co-host drum Northshore Ogitchidaa Singers, with invited drum Shaadaki Singers. The Manitoulin Tennis Club and Manitoulin Physio Centre are hosting a tennis tournament to raise funds for the Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS) athletics program. According to Environment Canada, it looks to be a bit of a soggy weekend. Friday will see a daytime high of 22°C with a 30 percent chance of showers and temperatures will drop to a low of 18°C overnight with the chance of showers rising to 40 percent and the possibility of lightning. On Saturday the sun still refuses to come out, with a daytime high of 21°C accompanied by showers, heavy at times. Temperatures drop to 15°C overnight with showers continuing. Sunday the showers remain in the forecast, accompanied by a daytime high of 17°C.
