Grant (nee Watling) - Author: Expositor Staff - Tags: Death Notices ### August 15, 2026 In loving memory of Jean M. Grant, who died peacefully on August 15, 2026 in her 93rd year at Manitoulin Centennial Manor in Little Current, Ontario. Mom was born, raised and lived most of her life in Kapuskasing, Ontario. She was predeceased by Don, her devoted husband of almost 70 years. She is survived by her three children Michael, Deborah and Kathrine (Dan). Grandma will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jason (Shauna), Sean (Chantal), Christine, Joseph, Bradley and Brian as well as by her nine great-grandchildren. She was Auntie Jean to numerous nieces and nephews and just Jean to her friends and neighbours. Jean was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Helen Watling and her twin sister Joan. Mom made a wonderful home for her family. She was a talented cook and home-baker and her butter tarts and pies are legendary. Her talents in the kitchen live on in her children and grandchildren. Mom and Dad made many wonderful memories at our Saganash Lake cabin, the Remi Lake Yacht Club and as empty nesters travelled Canada coast to coast. Her children extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Manitoulin Centennial Manor for the loving care you provided in her final years. Cremation has taken place and, as Mom wished, there will be no funeral. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a date to be determined. Donations in memory of Jean should be directed to Manitoulin Centennial Manor or to the charity of your choice.
