### May 21, 1964 - July 25, 2026

On Manitoulin Island, God called John peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the age of 62\. John will be deeply and lovingly missed by his daughters Audrey-Jean and Bailey-Marie, and cherished by his grandson Austin-John. He will be deeply missed by his parents Larry and Gloria “Penny” McMullen, and held dear in the hearts of his sisters Lorri, Troy (Peter) and Andrea. As well as nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and valued friends. John will be reunited with his predeceased grandparents Audrey and Austin “Jack” Zerback, Nora and Ed Morris, Mary and Richard McMullen and family. John was the most wonderful father there was, endlessly present for his daughters and a proud lifelong hockey dad. He was best known for his quick-wit, charming demeanour and relentlessly infectious sense of humor. He loved to make everyone laugh, but when you needed him, he was always there. John spent most of his life in the Tottenham and Adjala area. He worked alongside his father Larry in the HVAC and general contracting industry. He had passions for the outdoors, hobby-farming, survival skills, hunting and fishing. His favourite way to spend an afternoon was relaxing by the lake with a cold beer, surrounded by his closest friends and family. John was happy to move to Manitoulin Island for the last several years of his life, where the McMullen’s were one of the original Pioneer Families. A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff of The Manitoulin Health Centre in Little Current. He will be remembered as a friend, mentor and companion for many. John will be cherished in all our hearts, forever and always. He will be laid to rest at the Hilly Grove Cemetery in Manitowaning at a later date. Cremation has taken place. A tribute will be shared for John in Manitowaning at the Knox United Church on Saturday August 29, 2026 from 2 to 5 pm for local participation. A Celebration of Life will be held for John’s family, friends and coworkers in Tottenham at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 329, 25 Richmond St. E., Tottenham, ON. From 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2026\. Any donations would be appreciated for John’s Memory and Education Fund for his grandson Austin-John.
