### *Thankfully a construction crew came to the rescue*

To the Expositor:

I am an 88-year-old senior, soon to be 89 (on October 31) and seem to have some problems with my broom—it’s wore out.

So, now I must call for a taxi, the only one in Little Current.

A young woman driver tells me she is expecting a baby girl, and knowing I do a lot of crocheting, she wondered if I had anything “pink.” She followed me into my apartment, looked through my pile of over 20 pieces to go to Tim Hortons staff. “No pink.” She took it upon herself to take two crochet pieces (no pink) and walked out the door. No “may I,” which was a bit upsetting. I use a walker to go anywhere, I complained to the taxi staff, and my service is decreased. 

I still phoned, still no service. September 6, lucky day, but not on the 8th. I had walked from my home on Robinson Street, to Tim Hortons, to the grocery store, then to call a taxi home. I was surprised to hear ‘okay.’ I waited and waited on the bench, long enough to know it’s not coming. So, I tied my groceries to my walker to go down the hill. A construction truck pulled up beside me, two people, a young couple, helped me—how very thoughtful—and took me home.
