The event is open to those age 18 and under. A touch-a-truck, free barbecue, door and draw prizes and more will be part of the event. Registration is free. Dan Manitowabi’s two books are now available. - For an up-to-date listing of an Island event check out [our events page at Manitoulin.com](/events/). ## 📝 What we're working on - The swing bridge has been dedicated to honour the late Constable Marc Hovingh, who killed in the line of duty on November 19, 2020. - An uptick in blastomycosis is being reported in both humans and pets on Manitoulin. - Billings council were critical of a letter from a group of local residents who feel it is "morally wrong" for the township to not delay the hiring of a CAO, until after this fall’s municipal election. - The vessel 'Neverlanding,' which has been anchored at Goat Island near Little Current for a few months is under investigation by the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands. Staff has been directed to see if the vessel has been abandoned and if so, to take appropriate action. ## ☀️ Weather According to Environment Canada, a pleasant Labour Day weekend is in store for Manitoulin. Friday will see a daytime high of 25°C under mainly sunny skies with temperatures will drop to a low of 14°C overnight with partly cloudy skies. Saturday will see a mix of sun and cloud, with a daytime high of 22°C. Temperatures drop to 13°C overnight under clear skies. Sunday is expected to be sunny, accompanied by a daytime high of 24°C. Temperatures will drop to a low of 12°C Sunday night under clear skies.
