A by-election is underway to fill a vacancy on Whitefish River 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ band council following the passing of long-time councillor.

Council began its March 12 meeting with discussion on the report from the CAO on questions submitted regarding the decision to close the Providence Bay Arena to a meeting held February 11 at the Providence Bay Community Hall—questioning the amount of time the report took getting to council.

The Manitoulin Swing Bridge at Little Current is reaching its end of life and plans are underway to build a two-lane replacement.
