This website is the online home for The Manitoulin Expositor newspaper.

Launched in 1879 by editor William Loe Smith, The Manitoulin Expositor is the oldest extant newspaper in the Northern Ontario region. The paper was acquired in 1970 by Rick McCutcheon, who had joined as an editor in 1968.

Today, The Manitoulin Expositor continues to thrive in paper and online under the steadfast leadership of publisher Alicia McCutcheon, who manages daily operations. Rick McCutcheon remains with the paper as preeminent publisher emeritus and was inducted into the Ontario Community Newspapers Association's Hall of Fame in 2020.
