An individual from Southern Ontario has been fined $1,500 for the following deer hunting violation:

Angelo Micone of Beeton pleaded guilty to failing to immediately invalidate his antlerless deer tag. He was fined $1,500.

The Ontario Court of Justice heard that on November 20, 2025, conservation officers were patrolling the Township of Burpee and Mills on Manitoulin Island when they encountered Micone at his group’s hunt camp.

During the investigation, it was determined that on November 17, 2025, Micone shot an antlerless deer and failed to immediately invalidate his tag when harvesting the deer. Micone processed the deer and continued to hunt deer throughout the week without invalidating his antlerless deer tag. The deer was seized and donated to a local Indigenous community.

Justice of the Peace Lori-Ann Toulouse heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Gore Bay, on February 19, 2026.
