Island not-for-profit acquires historic Michael’s Bay townsite

Members of Michael’s Bay Historical Society visited the property earlier in April to view the state of the former townsite. From left are treasurer Paul Bowerman, Laura Clarke Middlebrook, Jane Tilston, Eleanor Lentir, Ben Lentir and Ed Sagle, many of whom have traced family ties back to the former townsite. The group is pictured standing in front of a hole in the ground which they believe is all that remains of the general store’s foundation at the corner of College Street and Main Street.
