JUSTIN ROY CELEBRATED ON HIS 100TH BIRTHDAY—Justin Roy, seated, is Manitoulin’s sole surviving WWII veteran, and the oldest member of M’Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. He celebrated his 100th birthday at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #177 in Little Current on the evening of Monday, August 19—the precise date of his birthday—surrounded by family and friends. The vet had another party to attend on Tuesday, this time at his home community of M’Chigeeng. Mr. Roy resides in Arizona, but makes the trip home almost every year. He’s surrounded by, from left, Braddon Taibossigai, Lisa Corbiere-Addison, Sandra Taibossigai, Wallace Corbiere and Linda Debassige, Grand Council Chief of the Anishinabek Nation.
