Wiikwemkoong students pave the way on environmental travel

VOLCANO WARRIORS—Wiikwemkoong High School stude pose at the base of Mt. Arenal, a volcano in Costa Rica, during a recent school trip. They students are, from left, Kordell Elijah, Edison Fox-Corbiere, Adrian Katt, Robert Koskie-Obey, Aidan Leedham, Ellie-Anna Leedham, Aaliyah Lewis, Justice Manitowabi-Trudeau, Jeremy Neganegijig-Ballyk, Lanaya Oshkabewisens, Deea’ Peltier-Simmonds, Grace Pitawanakwat-Wemigwans, Kiera Recollet-Trudeau, Keaton Roy, Shaolin Roy, Ava-Rain Trudeau, Daniel Trudeau, Hailey Trudeau, Ryley Wassegijig-Migwans, Carmine Wemigwans, Jessica Wemigwans and Tristan Wemigwans. Chaperones were group leader Jason Thibault, Jason Oshkabewisens, Tia Peltier and Natalie Neganegijig. The excursion, a first of its kind, gives the students a class credit.
