For providing increased awareness of who we are and our vision and mission
To the Expositor:
My organization, Threads of Life, would like to thank Lisa and the organizers of the Manitoulin Trade Show for the opportunity to increase awareness of who we are and our vision and mission.
We are a national, charitable organization that supports families living everyday with the aftermath of a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease. Reactively, we offer one on one support with our volunteer family guides. Proactively, we do public speaking for businesses, schools, health and safety committees and health and safety conferences. Small groups or large, we are committed to increasing awareness of the extreme importance of going to work and coming home Safe. One death, one life-altering injury, one occupational disease is one too many. We are real people, with real stories. We share stories of our loss, and how we are forever changed.
The members of Threads of Life are like my extended family. The commonality is our loss. The Threads of Life provides a safe, non-judgmental, caring and understanding environment, conducive to healing. The Steps for Life Walk is our annual fundraising event. We walked in 36 cities across Canada this year. Money raised from this event and corporate and private sponsors gives us our programs that help us heal. We are supporting over 4,000 family members across Canada.
The grief journey is a forever journey. This organization gave me hope and through the sharing and support I found healing and a life after the death of my son Brent. We want everyone to know you are not alone. We are here for you if needed. We get it!
Mary Robinson was the successful winner of our gift card draw. Congratulations, Mary.
Thanks to the vendors for all their booths. A lot of teamwork, a lot of work, everyone working together makes a successful event.
Thank you,
Joanne Wade
