Manhattan-Manitoulin author Bonnie Kogos recalls the persnal horror of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre

NEW YORK鈥擳he memory and the days of September 11 are indelible within my soul, and all of those around me, my family and friends in New York City that fateful, horrible day.  I had returned from my summer visit to Manitoulin the week before that sunny September 11 morning.

The oddest thing that morning on September 11 was that I got a phone call from my dear friend in Sudbury, telling me! I phoned my travel office: stay home!

My darling cherished cousin Jonathan Uman had driven in that morning in his new sports car, parked in the basement and taken the elevator to the 102nd floor to his office, where he was a vice-president at Cantor-Fitzgerald.
