AUNDECK OMNI KANING—A general election for chief and council of Aundeck Omni Kaning 91���˵��� has been called for August 29. A nomination meeting to select candidates for a chief and seven councillors has been set for August 5, between 6 and 9 pm at the Elders Centre, 10-1 Hill Street.

In order to be eligible to hold office, “candidates for chief must be a resident of the lands of the Aundeck Omni Kaning 91���˵��� for a period of one year prior to the election date; be a registered band member of the Aundeck Omni Kaning 91���˵��� for a period of one year prior to the election date; once elected, must continue to reside on the lands of the Aundeck Omni Kaning 91���˵��� for the duration of the term in office, save and excepting temporary leaves of absence, duly approved by the governing council; have served at least one previous term as councillor or chief or have appropriate experience; must be a registered band member eligible to vote; and; must not be an employee of Aundeck Onmi Kaning 91���˵���.”
