The Assiginack Horticultural Society held its annual Flower Show and high tea on July 29, celebrating flower displays, a penny auction, and honoring six members with 25 years of volunteer service.
MANITOWANING鈥擳he annual Assiginack Horticultural Society Flower Show and 鈥渉igh tea鈥 luncheon on Wednesday, July 29 was a big hit this year, with members from across Manitoulin Island attending. As a special event at this year鈥檚 show, six members who have clocked 25 years of volunteerism with the group were recognized.
The members in attendance were Sandra Pope, Mamie Sims, Joyce White and Mae Mervin, with Sheila Armstrong and Isla Lloyd unable to attend.
In addition to wonderful displays of flowers and arrangements, attendees enjoyed a lunch of sandwiches, charcuterie, tea, coffee and pop while waiting on the final event, a penny table featuring a host of nifty items.
