August 30, 1951 - April 29, 2026

Beverly Ann Pickard passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at St. Joseph鈥檚 Lodge in Gore Bay. Beverly was born in Gordon Township on August 30, 1951 to her parents, Raymond and Helen Fogal (Haner). She is the beloved sister of Coy (predeceased) (Judy), Bill (Bonnie), Edna (Lyle predeceased), Doug (Cynthia) Carrie (Merv) and sister-in-law of Lorna (Jim predeceased), Austin (Beverly) (both predeceased) and Stan (Jackie). In high school, Bev met the love of her life, Fred, and the two later married on October 19, 1968. Together, they shared great pride in raising their children, Elizabeth Cronk, Robert Pickard and Khristy (Scott) Benjamin. Bev spent the first 10 years of their marriage as a devoted wife and mother. She then spent 20 years working in the Gore Bay nursing home, as both an HCA and in the kitchen. Her last 18 years were spent working as a Canada Post mail delivery driver. Bev was actively involved with the Gordon鈥檚 Women鈥檚 Institute for 57 years. She also served as a volunteer ambulance attendant for 23 years. Bev was also a snowduster for 10 years and was actively involved in her children鈥檚 sports when they were growing up. She also enjoyed being a 4-H leader for 30+ units. Bev loved and enjoyed her entire family and extended family with all her heart. In her prime, Bev enjoyed many camping trips, sewing, quilting, knitting, making jams and preserves and watching Fred in the garden working for her pleasure (because he didn鈥檛 eat the green stuff). She also loved sitting on their deck, enjoying the deer and birds while taking in the beauty of her planters full of flowers. Bev has great pride in her grandchildren, Karol (Craig), Aaron, Koy (Chelsey), Kella (predeceased), Shyra and Tristan. This sense of pride extended to her great grandchildren, Hunter, Owen, Caden, Tryston, Syrus, Valerie, Lilly and Ikaika. Loved by many nieces, nephews and friends. Bev enjoyed flowers growing versus being in a vase and so the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Bev鈥檚 honour would be very much appreciated to The Angel Bus, Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association, the Alzheimer鈥檚 Society or the Gore Bay Medical Centre. Friends and family will gather at the Simpson Funeral Home in Gore Bay on Friday, May 15, 2026. Visitation from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Service at 12:30pm with a small lunch to follow. Burial to follow at 2:30pm Gordon Cemetery.
