Predeceased by his parents Robert and Margaret (nee Brooke) Read. Cherished father of Peter McAllister (April) of Mindemoya. Loving grandfather to Conner and Tessa. Dear brother to David Read of Bruce Mines and Robert Read (Helena) of the GTA. Bill is survived by his two lifelong best friends: Mike Fogal and Robbie Coldwell. Bill鈥檚 greatest passion was boating. There was nothing he loved more than spending time sailing the Big Water of Manitoulin Island with his family. He was a longtime member of the Gore Bay Legion where he spent a lot of time with friends. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Gore Bay Legion on Saturday, August 29 from 1 - 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gore Bay Legion in memory of Bill Read. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME, Ltd., Espanola.
