WIIKWEMKOONG鈥擣or years, the work of serving Wiikwemkoong has been happening piecemeal and on shifting federal, provincial and local ground.

Departments have spilled into separate buildings. Offices have been added wherever space could be found. Staff have grown to meet stretching community needs, programs have expanded and to date the old administration building has somehow managed to keep up with renovation after renovation, much like Wiikwemkoong鈥檚 nursing home. 

But there is only so much an old building can hold and only so many places a growing community can ask its people to make do.  

Now, after roughly 15 years of planning, the expansion of the Wiikwemkoong administration office is finally becoming a physical reality; a long-awaited project intended not simply to provide more desks and offices, but to bring the community鈥檚 administrative work back together.
