AUNDECK OMNI KANING—Aundeck Omni Kaning 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ has an extensive unofficial slate of candidates for its August 29 2026 general election following a nomination meeting held on August 5.

Five community members have been nominated for the position of chief: Patsy Corbiere (incumbent), Peter Nahwegahbo, Donald McGraw Trudeau and Marvin Assinewai.

A much larger field has stepped forward for band council, with 31 candidates nominated for seven seats. The unofficial nominees are: Max Abotossaway, Jason Abotosssaway, Troy Abotossaway, Mariah Abotossaway, Tierra Abotossaway, Cheryl Audette, Carlene Assinewai, Shaun Assinewai, Katherine Barnes-Edwards, Trinity Behm, Shirley Corbiere, Candice Corbiere, Gabriella Corbiere, Shane Corbiere, Brian Lloyd Corbiere, Janet Esquimaux, Matthew Esquimaux, Debbie Francis, Rachel Goodfellow, Debbie King, Crystal Madahbee, Ingrid Madahbee, Rebecca Madahbee, Billi-Jo Madahbee, Scott Madahbee, Karen McGraw, Savannah Nahwegahbow, Lois Nahwegahbow, Norm Abotossaway and Sue Ramsdin.

Under AOK’s Custom Electoral system, the community elects a chief and seven band councillors every three years. The results posted following the nomination meeting are unofficial and subject to change as candidates confirm their nominations.
