August 21, 1953 – February 18, 2026

In loving memory of George Manidoo Migizi Webkamigad, Sunrise August 21st, 1953 – Sunset February 18th, 2026. A resident of Wiikwemkoong, who died peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre in Little Current on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the age of 72 years. Devoted partner of Thelma Hare of Toronto and loving father of Charlene Michelle (Otoniel). Dear brother of Walter (Jean predeceased), Diane Jean (Raymond predeceased), Myles (Virginia predeceased), Blake, John and Dominic of Wiikwemkoong. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Lilian Webkamigad, brother Ephrem and sister Regina (John). Remembered by his godchildren Chrystal and Wilfred. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will also be missed by his furry friends, Teacup and AlaskaWild. George worked for the City of Toronto Historical Board for over 30 years. He loved to play hockey. He played hockey for the Toronto Islanders and was the devoted captain of the Toronto Firebirds #19. Besides his love of hockey, he also enjoyed playing bingo at Delta St. Clair. George’s family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Sunnybrook Hospital and to the staff at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home for their wonderful care of George. Family and friends gathered at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni. Visitation was on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 1 pm. Funeral Mass was on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11 am. Feast followed. Private burial followed in the Hare Family Cemetery in M’Chigeeng.
