Manitoulin's Kohyn Eshkawkogan is representing Canada at the 2026 U18 World Championships. After a loss to Slovakia, Canada secured three straight shutouts, including a 7-0 win over Finland on Monday. Eshkawkogan has tallied a goal and an assist so far as Canada heads into the quarterfinals.
M鈥機HIGEENG鈥擬anitoulin Island鈥檚 Kohyn Eshkawkogan, a defenceman with the Ottawa 67鈥檚 of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) was selected to represent Canada at the 2026 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World U18 championships, which are well underway.
鈥淚t is always an honour to play for your country,鈥 Kohyn told The Expositor. 鈥淚鈥檓 grateful for the opportunity to represent Canada at the U18 Worlds.鈥
Kohyn, 17, and 67鈥檚 teammate Thomas Vandenberg were added to the team after the 67鈥檚 were knocked out of the OHL playoffs on Saturday, April 18. He was called about joining the team a few hours after the 67鈥檚 playoff run ended.
