Gore Bay held a barbecue to honor retiring public works employees Mike Fogal (after 25 years) and Roger Chenard (retiring October 30 after nearly a decade).

GORE BAY—Two long-time employees in the Gore Bay public works department who are retiring have been recognized for their efforts by the town and staff.

A barbecue celebration was held to honour Mike Fogal, who is retiring after 25 years and Roger Chenard, who has announced his pending retirement as of October 30, last Friday.

Pam Fogal, town clerk and interim town manager said, “We are sure going to miss you, Mike. You have been a wealth of knowledge to the town over 25 years (working) in Gore Bay. “Just promise me you will visit us in the office and tell me your jokes.”
