Little Feather Couture takes New York City Fashion Week once again
Manitoulin designer Tashina Migwans Odjig (Little Feather Couture) showcased her Indigenous fashion at New York Fashion Week’s Runway 7, featuring models from her home community.

NEW YORK CITY—This past summer on Manitoulin, when I attended the Wiikwemkoong 65th Annual Cultural Festival, the Fashion Showcase highlighting designs of Little Feather Couture, Minwaate Designs and Star Jamieson, was terrific. I sat there, hoping Little Feather (Tashina Migwans Odjig) might participate in this September’s gala and highly publicized New York Fashion Week Runway 7.
She did.
For 11 years, RUNWAY 7, a major fashion week production company, represents the best of cultural diversity by integrating international designers, media, celebrities, and commerce. More than 1,000 people attended this week...with their cameras.
