MINDEMOYA鈥擳he Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) is advising the community that the Mindemoya Hospital site, including the emergency department, is temporarily closed effective April 15 due to a flood-related infrastructure issue impacting water and sewer services. The closures will remain in effect until infrastructure services are restored and it is safe to resume normal operations.

鈥淚n consultation with public health, this decision has been made to ensure the health and safety of patients, staff, and the community remain our top priority,鈥 an MHC release states. 鈥淒espite all reasonable efforts to maintain operations, current conditions do not support the safe delivery of care.鈥

MHC explained, all inpatients are being safely transferred to alternative nearby hospital care locations, and patient families are being notified directly.
