In loving memory of Terry Grant Beange, who passed away in his seventieth year on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Health Sciences North with loving family by his side. He was born a Haweater in Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island on December 19, 1949 to Grant (predeceased) and Gladys Beange (nee Wright). Terry was an adventurer, a gentleman and a scholar. He completed a degree in mathematics at the University of Guelph on a football scholarship. During this time, he started the university bridge club and was recruited to the Hamilton Tiger Cats’ training camp. During 19 months of travel throughout southeast Asia, he visited remote islands, made lifelong friends and climbed to Everest Base Camp at 18,000 feet. Terry worked in commercial real estate and finished his career as a professor at Cambrian College. He became a duplicate bridge master in his twenties, was a keen hunter at the Beange hunt camp on Manitoulin Island and a Freemason of Nickel Lodge #427. Terry is the beloved husband of Klazina Beange (Cummings). Cherished father of Jaya Beange (Glenn Dodds) and fondly remembered by Jaya’s mother Judy Harris. Dear step-father to Dan Giguère (Danielle Lockyer Olson), Sylvie Giguère (Ian Grey), Heather Boychuk (Brad), Leslie LeBlanc (Greg), Derek Cummings (Melissa), and Marsha Cummings. Loving Grampa Terry to Jeremy, Cassandra, Kaelyn, Lauryn, Katie, Samantha, William, Klazina, and Kerek. Predeceased by father Grant Beange. Dear son of Gladys Beange (Wright). Sadly missed by siblings Shirley O’Neil predeceased (John), Douglas Beange (Joy), Nancy Boyer (Don), Christine Kirwan (Sean predeceased), Cynthia Beange, Randy Beange (Sylvie), Richard Beange (Beth), Vickie-Lynne Beange-Prince (Larry), Sherri-Lee Jewel (David). Sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of life was held Saturday, March 23, from 4 pm with words of remembrance at 5 pm at the Branch 336 Falconbridge Legion. A cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium will follow in Spring 2019.
