M’CHIGEENG—The UCCM Police Service has laid multiple charges following an investigation into a firearms incident that occurred on Riverside Drive in M’Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ on June 12.

On June 12, UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service officers responded to a firearms complaint at a residence on Riverside Drive after receiving reports of an armed confrontation involving several individuals. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and initiated an investigation.

The investigation revealed that Bailey Laford, of M’Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, attended the residence and became involved in an altercation with individuals at the location. It is alleged that Mr. Laford subsequently returned with a rifle, threatened two individuals, pointed the firearm at them and discharged the firearm in their direction. One victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by projectile fragments.
