WIIKWEMKOONG鈥揟he Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) will be deploying Axon Body Worn Cameras this week. Designated uniformed members on the frontline will be among the first to be equipped with this technology as part of a phased implementation.
All officers equipped with body鈥憌orn cameras have completed comprehensive training covering camera activation and usage, privacy considerations, data management and retention, and public disclosure requirements. These measures ensure the responsible and respectful use of the technology while protecting the privacy of community members and officers alike. The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service is taking an important step forward in enhancing accountability, transparency, and public trust with the introduction of body鈥憌orn cameras for frontline officers.
