MSS Grade 11 student Amara Wilson-Zegil has been selected for the prestigious Shad Canada summer program at the University of Regina, where she will focus on her passion for aerospace and STEM.
GORE BAY鈥擶hile she doesn鈥檛 necessarily wish to travel to outer space, Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS) Grade 11 student Amara Wilson-Zegil, who has been chosen to take part in the prestigious Shad Canada program, wants to pursue a career in engineering technology, possibly aerospace.
鈥淚 definitely know I want to go into STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) as a career,鈥 Amara told The Expositor, 鈥渉opefully in engineering technology. I have always loved building and working with metals. Aerospace as a whole, building rockets and airplanes would be awesome.鈥
鈥淚 would never go up to space, but I would love to build the machines for others to travel there,鈥 said Amara.
