GORE BAY—While she doesn’t necessarily wish to travel to outer space, Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS) Grade 11 student Amara Wilson-Zegil, who has been chosen to take part in the prestigious Shad Canada program, wants to pursue a career in engineering technology, possibly aerospace.

“I definitely know I want to go into STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) as a career,” Amara told The Expositor, “hopefully in engineering technology. I have always loved building and working with metals. Aerospace as a whole, building rockets and airplanes would be awesome.”

“I would never go up to space, but I would love to build the machines for others to travel there,” said Amara.
