KAGAWONG鈥擶hile Billings council will soon consider any potential in opening the access to the Bridal Veil Falls pooling area, the walking trails will have to remain closed due to dangerous conditions. Non-township representatives are reporting that the walking trails area is a 鈥渄isaster鈥 after the significant flooding that took place in April.

鈥淚 had talked to (Billings Mayor) Bryan (Barker) about the situation at the falls, but until you actually see it you can鈥檛 get a true idea of how bad the damage is,鈥 stated Lee Hayden, reeve of Gordon/Barrie Island at a Manitoulin Municipal Association meeting in Mindemoya last week. 鈥淭here are large and smaller trees piled up and twisted in a mess. What it is going to take to remove just the trees will be a monumental task.
