Friends & Neighbours for the week of June 17, 2026.
Alexia here with your school鈥檚 out for Summer Fly! I think there should be a column devoted entirely to rants and diatribes. As this is my public forum, I must take the opportunity to express my strife toward the people who drive on highways with full, uncovered loads and swaying trailers. I must also remark upon the varmint(s) or merdehawk(s) that tore apart every recycling bag along Hwy 540 in Prov Bay last week鈥攜ou won and have officially graduated to the top of my rage-baiting list. I have a snarky teenager(s) with nothing but free time in between their part-time summer gigs and visits to Canada鈥檚 wonderland to feed and entertain for the next two months鈥攈elp me, Wanda! And don鈥檛 press. We can鈥檛 always be Sunshine and Lollipops over here! Onto the tassels and robes, I am emphatically proud of all these great Grads and of their wonderful parents, teachers, guides, leaders, coaches and mentors, who managed to 鈥榤anage鈥 the melee of sports schedules, emotions and life challenges like Titan Champions. Well done! Everyone is more than ready now for some fun out on the field, a little r & r forming new friendships, reveling in the joy of old ones, pioneering new adventures and making new sun-soaked memories that will carry them through the threshold of every new beginning, every new passage, path and pivot. These magnificent milestones, these commencements, are exactly that! A great celebration of the beginning. This is the start of your story, your way. Ready, steady, go! Congratulations, Grads! 鈥淥h, the places you鈥檒l go!鈥 - Dr. Seuss
