Five Individuals Facing 70 Charges Following Drug and Firearms Investigation in Wiikwemkoong

WIIKWEMKOONG, ON – July 26, 2026 – Five people are facing 70 drug and firearms-related charges following a search warrant at a residence on Ojibway Street in Wiikwemkoong at approximately 5:30 a.m. on July 26, 2026. Five people were located inside the residence and arrested.“The results of this investigation reflect the value of information received from community members and the unwavering efforts of our officers,” said Chief of Police Ron Gignac. “Through continued persistence and strong community partnerships, we will keep targeting those responsible for drug trafficking and work relentlessly to remove illegal drugs and illegal firearms from our Territory.”

During the search, police seized:

A loaded .40-calibre Glock 23 handgun
A loaded 9 mm Beretta Nano handgun
Suspected cocaine, crack cocaine and hydromorphone tablets, with a combined estimated street value of more than $30,000
Over $40,000 in Canadian currency
Digital scales
Multiple cellular telephones

Christine PELTIER, 45-year-old, of Wiikwemkoong, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – two counts
Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a firearm knowing its serial number had been defaced

Jared PELTIER, 31-year-old, of Wiikwemkoong, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – two counts
Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a firearm knowing its serial number had been defaced

Matthew RECOLLET, 44-year-old, of Wiikwemkoong, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – two counts
Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a firearm knowing its serial number had been defaced
Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order

Tristen BROWN, 18-year-old, of the Durham Region, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – two counts
Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a firearm knowing its serial number had been defaced

Kymani FAULCHER, 18-year-old, of the Durham Region, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – two counts
Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a firearm knowing its serial number had been defaced
Failure to comply with a release order – four counts

At the time of his arrest, FAULCHER was bound by conditions of a release order relating to outstanding charges of a similar nature.

All five accused were held for bail and remanded into custody.
