BILLINGS-TEHKUMMAH鈥擝oth Billings and Tehkummah townships have declared their respective states of emergency over. However, in the case of Billings, the Bridal Veil Falls trails will remain closed while the township gets a clear idea of the damage that was caused by the extensive April flooding. As well, an assessment of roads in Billings is to be undertaken for permanent repair.

鈥淥ur state of emergency was lifted this morning,鈥 Billings Mayor Bryan Barker told The Expositor on Wednesday of last week. 鈥淲e still have a lot of cleanup to do, but we think the crisis is over.鈥

鈥淲e鈥檙e always hoping that the Bridal Veil Falls trails will be able to be opened, but from what has been observed it is not likely at this time,鈥 said Mayor Barker. 鈥淏ut until we have someone come and take a good look at the damage, we won鈥檛 know. We have had the offer of a drone pilot to take video of the trail area to assist us.鈥
