In loving memory of George John Irwin Calback, born to John and Margaret Calback (née Badgerow) at home on February 23, 1934 on Barrie Island, where he resided for 91 years. He passed away peacefully at St. Gabriel’s Villa in Chelmsford on September 8th, 2026. George was a brother and lifelong friend to William Ashton (Nina) Calback. He was a brother to Patricia and was predeceased by his much-loved siblings John, Edith and Corrine who were always remembered. George was the loving husband of Carolyn (née Phillips). They were married on September 27, 1969 and were happily married for almost 56 years. He was a cherished dad to two children, Joyce and Lorne, and father-in-law of both Rob Rogers and Dawn (née Farnel). He was a devoted grandpa to Skylar Rogers (Alejandro Pinzon), Zachary Farnel (Viviana Villagran), Damian Rogers (Samantha Bailey), Nathan and Thomas Calback. He was also a great grandpa to Sophia, Evelyn and Santiago. To many cherished nieces and nephews, he was Uncle George. During his life, he had many jobs and was a help to many. He worked at the Gore Bay Fish Hatchery, Purvis Brothers Mink Farm and the Burt Best farm, to name a few.  Family and friends gathered at Simpson Funeral Home, Gore Bay on Monday, September 14, 2026. Visitation was from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral Service at 12:00pm.
