M鈥機HIGEENG鈥擪enjgewin Teg is pleased to announce it has received its official designation as a living classroom delivery site through the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA) under the Ministry of Long-Term Care鈥檚 Living Classroom program.

The Living Classroom program is funded by the government of Ontario and led by the Schlegel-UW RIA, in partnership with the Ontario Association of Adult and Continuing Education School Board Administrators (CESBA). This milestone is further supported by $120,000 in funding to expand Kenjgewin Teg鈥檚 Personal Support Worker (PSW) program, delivered in partnership with Canadore College, Wikwemikong Nursing Home and St. Joseph鈥檚 Lodge.

Kenjgewin Teg鈥檚 application for funding has been successfully approved for the Living Classroom, with $90,000 in stream 1 (implementation funding) and $30,000 in stream two (wraparound support funding). This investment will support one implementation cohort and two wraparound cohorts, enhancing training opportunities for future PSWs in the region.
