Billings council dismissed a citizen letter urging them to delay hiring a CAO before the election, arguing it would leave the township without leadership well into the new year.
KAGAWONG鈥擝illings township council members were upset with a letter penned by a group of local residents who have called on council to delay the hiring of major, important, and critical roles for the municipality, feeling that it would be morally wrong now before the upcoming municipal election.
鈥淭o the new council I wish you good luck. There are people in this community who obviously don鈥檛 know what is going on,鈥 stated Councillor Dave Hillyard, at a Billings council meeting last week.
A letter to the mayor and all members of council from a group of 18 persons reads, 鈥淭he residents of the Township of Billings wish to bring to your attention that the existing council should delay any hiring of major, important and critical roles for the municipality. This would be morally wrong now that we have additional candidates nominated for council.鈥
