EVANSVILLE—A new vendors’ market is going to be introduced in Burpee and Mills this summer.
“My overall goal for having this market is to bring the community back together. There has been a gap since COVID,” stated Marnie Kellar, who is requesting local farmers and artisans to showcase their fresh produce and handmade goods at the market to take place on a bi-weekly weekend basis this summer.
“We are going to hold the markets during the summer and hopefully it will be a success,” said Ms. Kellar. “The markets that I go to around the Island are full and very busy. I know there is a market on Saturday in Mindemoya and another in Little Current on Saturdays as well. In Gore Bay the market is on Friday and in Kagawong it is held on Wednesdays. People in our area have told me they would like to get to these markets during the week, but can’t because they work,” said Ms. Kellar.
