Kagawong’s Old Mill Heritage Centre will open May 23-24 featuring a massive hockey exhibit. It includes local jerseys and photos alongside NHL memorabilia, such as autographed Bobby Orr and Sidney Crosby jerseys.
KAGAWONG—It will be like going to the Hockey Hall of Fame, with National Hockey League (NHL) memorabilia on display, but it will also include Manitoulin Island hockey items.
The Old Mill Heritage Centre in Kagawong will be featuring a hockey display this season.
“Initially the idea was brought forward a few years ago when Steve Paikin and I were talking about future events we could feature for History Day in Billings and he suggested holding a hockey event,” said Rick Nelson, curator of the heritage centre. “At the time I said we had a couple of other things that we were doing for History Day over a couple of years, but we could look at the hockey idea for future reference.”
