An OPP traffic stop of a cyclist without lights in M'Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ led to a cocaine possession charge for a 37-year-local, police said.
(Little Current, ON) - One person is facing a drug-related charge following a traffic stop involving a bicycle in M'Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers with the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrols in the area of Riverside Drive and Mnaawnkwad Drive in M'Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ when they observed a cyclist travelling on the roadway without the required lighting equipment. The officer initiated a traffic stop, and as a result of further investigation, police seized suspected crack cocaine and the cyclist was arrested.
Corey BEBONANG, 37-years-old from M'Chigeeng 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance - cocaine.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on September 22, 2026.
