Last gas before Chi-Cheemaun sailing is South Baymouth
TOBERMORY—Tobermory’s only gas station, Hoppy’s One Stop, is set to be closed this summer due to “unresolved operational issues.” Tobermory Village Campground and Cabins put out the notice on social media, warning visitors to fill up before coming to the community.
The gas station owner reportedly had hoped the issues would be resolved before the busy Victoria Day long weekend, but that hope failed to come to pass. Now all indications are that the gas station will remain closed for the summer.
Those travelling south from South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island are advised to fill up at Carl’s Trading Post before getting on board the MS Chi-Cheemaun ferry.
