Carol Pitawanakwat of Wiikwemkoong nearly died after being mauled by a neighbor's pitbull. She suffered severe arm and scalp injuries, lost significant blood, and intends to have the dog put down.
WIIKWEMKOONG鈥擜 severe pitbull attack occurred at a residence in Wiikwemkoong last week. Carol Pitawanakwat suffered extensive injuries, including a left arm that was torn of skin to the bone and a torn scalp. Ms. Pitawanakwat reportedly came close to death due to the severity of the injuries.
鈥(I was) mauled by a pitbull at (a residence) in Wiky,鈥 reported Ms. Pitawanakwat. 鈥淭oday, they will put my arm back as the pitbull tore off my left arm skin to the bone, scalp tore off flesh was on the ground, lost three pints of blood.鈥
