ESPANOLA鈥擜 driver is facing charges following a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township.
On Friday, June 26 at approximately 5:00 pm, officers with the Manitoulin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint reporting a single vehicle swerving through traffic and passing unsafely. Officers located the vehicle on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of further investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
In addition, police seized suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $795.
The driver, Stephanie Dale, 33-years-old from Sudbury, was charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, resist peace officer, fail to comply with probation order, possession of a schedule one substance-cocaine, fail to surrender insurance card, drive vehicle with cannabis readily available.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Tuesday, August 4.
