Peter Carter raised over $10,000 for the Manitoulin Health Centre during the Perth 700 cycling event. He is now seeking five local riders to join next year's team to further support the MHC.
EVANSVILLE鈥擧aving just completed a very successful Perth 700, a seven-day cycling event in Perth, Ontario, in which he raised over $10,000 for the Manitoulin Health Centre, Peter Carter is not only getting ready for next year鈥檚 ride but is hoping to recruit other local riders to take part.
鈥淢y goal is to recruit five local riders to become part of the Manitoulin Health Care team,鈥 said Mr. Carter. 鈥淚 raised over $10,000 on my own in the ride. Imagine how much five more members of the team could raise that would provide badly needed support for the MHC?鈥
Mr. Carter said that not only does he want to support the MHC, but he has another motive for taking part in the Perth 700 and staying active. 鈥淚f I and other people stay healthy by being active, we will not have to use the local hospitals because we remain healthy. I鈥檓 trying to be proactive rather than reactive.鈥
