GORDON鈥擥ordon/Barrie Island council has shown its support for a neighbouring municipality by providing Billings township with a donation toward repairs to be undertaken on the Bridal Veil Falls trail.

鈥淐ouncil recognizes the importance of the Bridal Veil Falls and its trail to tourism on the Island, especially for Western Manitoulin,鈥 stated Lee Hayden, reeve of Gordon/Barrie Island after a council meeting last week.

鈥淚t is very concerning that flooding occurred with unfortunate circumstances that caused the township to close the falls (due to the significant flooding event in April),鈥 said Reeve Hayden. 鈥淥ur council has decided to be supportive of a neighbouring municipality and to donate $5,000 toward the repairs to the falls.鈥
