Joseph Caulfield鈥檚 3rd annual food bank charity bike ride is set for September 4, urging residents to donate non-perishables and personal care items along the route.
MINDEMOYA鈥擩oseph Caulfield of Manitowaning will be undertaking his third annual Food Bank Bicycle ride in early September, and is again encouraging Island residents, both permanent and seasonal, to donate staple personal items along with non-perishable food items, to be presented to the Manitoulin Food Bank.
鈥淲e will be taking part in our third annual food bank ride, and I will holding the actual ride, from Manitowaning to Mindemoya, doing the ride on Friday, September 4,鈥 Mr. Caulfield told The Expositor. The date for the actual ride has changed from the previous two events that were held on the Labour Day long weekend. 鈥淭he reason I am holding the ride on Friday is that the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Tour de Force Ride is taking place that same long weekend and having the event in the past on the weekend means someone from the Food Bank has to come in on a day off for us to present the items to them. By holding the ride on the Friday all the (MFR) staff will be there.鈥
