🎡 Fair Fun 🤩

The 119th annual Massey Fair runs this weekend from at the Massey Fairgrounds. Celebrating the 2026 theme "Once Upon A Massey Fair," the three-day event features agricultural exhibits, livestock shows, motocross, and a full midway. Mainstage entertainment includes a rock lineup featuring a Tragically Hip tribute on Friday night, a full slate of country music on Saturday, and local talent on Sunday. Other weekend attractions include a Saturday morning parade, a demolition derby, western horse ring competitions, and chainsaw carving demonstrations. Gates open Friday from 4 pm to 1 am, Saturday from 10 am to 1 am, and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.

A We Love Spring Bay and surrounding neighbours celebration will take place in the Spring Bay community on . Come join us for a fun afternoon celebrating Spring Bay and our surrounding neighbours. There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, outdoor games, inflatables and fun for everyone. The event will take place at 9351 Highway 542, right in the middle of Spring Bay.

🎨 Wheale's Works 🖼️

There are just four days remaining to spend time with the current collection of Ivan Wheale’s paintings at Perivale Gallery. As of mid-afternoon on Monday, August 31, Ivan’s paintings will come down from the walls of the gallery. For those who have loved his work, these final days offer a meaningful opportunity to pause, take in his paintings once more, and, perhaps, bring a piece of Ivan’s Northern vision home with you. On September 1, the estate of Ivan Wheale will take possession of the remaining collection, which will then be distributed. If there is a painting that has spoken to you, there are still a few days to come and spend some time with it.

The Freshwater Community Church is hosting the Freshwater Fun Fest this . There will be a dunk tank, obstacle course, bubble soccer, cotton candy, snow cones and much more. All are welcome to this free event.

Voters will go to the polls for this election of chief and council for Aundeck Omni Kaning (AOK) 91��˵��. There are three candidates for the position of chief of the community and 26 people in the running for one of seven seats on council.

All candidates meetings are being held for Central Manitoulin this weekend. It provides the opportunity for local residents to ask the candidates questions. The candidates meetings will take place at the Sandfield Hall on , at the Mindemoya Hall on and at the Providence Bay Hall on .
