Gore Bay Harbour Days

The Town of Gore Bay is hosting its 13^th annual Gore Bay Harbour Days celebration that promises to be a family friendly free weekend of fun for all ages! The events started this morning with the Gore Bay Street Market and will get into full gear with kids' games by the Harbour View Pavilion beginning at 6 pm Friday evening. The Gore Bay Theatre production of ‘Waiting for the Parade’ will hit the Gore Bay community hall stage this evening at 7:30 pm. There will be live music starting tonight (Friday from 7 pm until 1 am) and during the day and evening Saturday starting at 1:30 pm until 1 am. The Western Manitoulin Lions Club will be hosting the beer gardens Friday evening, while a free outdoor movie, ‘The Little Rascals,’ will be shown at the splash pad area. Saturday’s events will start off with the Gore Bay Rotary Club pancake breakfast from 8-10 am. During the day there will be a vendor market, Amaze N Fun in the Kids' Zone, a beef on a bun lunch served by the Lions Club, Northern Exotics displaying all kinds of critters, an ice cream eating contest, classic auto show, the 13^th annual cardboard boat regatta, fire truck fun with the Gore Bay Fire Department, tube and dinghy races and a hot dog lunch being put on by the Lions, who will also provide a peameal bacon on a bun, hot dogs, French fries, water and soft drinks for supper. Again, there will be live music and a beer gardens Saturday evening. Sunday’s events include the third annual Breeze Around the Bay on Sunday morning, a non-denominational church service, five- and one-kilometre fun runs, and the Gore Bay Theatre production of ‘Outside Mullingar’ in a matinee performance Sunday afternoon. Gore Bay Theatre

The Gore Bay Theatre is presenting two productions this summer. A matinee takes place as ‘Outside Mullingar,’ a Tony award winning Irish romantic comedy written by John Patrick Shanley takes the stage. While ‘Waiting for the Parade,’ by John Murrell will hit the Gore Bay stage at and again on . This is a Canadian classic set in Calgary during World War II, and is filled with humour, comradeship and songs of the time.

Heartfelt Heritage – Manitoulin Roots

The is excited to welcome “Heartfelt Heritage – Manitoulin Roots,” an art exhibition by Canadian artist Christie (Best) Pearson Anderson of Christie's Art at the Gore Bay Museum, 12 Dawson St, Gore Bay. Come enjoy a beautiful collection of paintings and drawings inspired by Manitoulin roots and heritage. The exhibition will continue throughout the summer until August 29.
