Loblaws clarified that rumors about its Manitoulin stores are false. While an ownership transition is underway in Little Current, both stores remain fully operational under interim leadership.

LITTLE CURRENT—Rumours have been swirling across Manitoulin Island over the past few days as the “Lavish” sign has been removed from the Little Current Your Independent Grocer’s storefront.

Not to go into any of the rumours in detail, but some of those spreading falsities have lumped in the grocery store in Gore Bay and the Subway in Little Current. These rumours are false.

The Expositor contacted Loblaws to discover what has actually transpired at the Little Current Your Independent Grocer store. Their reply contained little detail, but clearly indicated that the rumours are not based in any facts.
